Around the World Series 5: Brazil: From Pre-Salt Leadership to New Frontiers: Powering a Sustainable Energy Future

Wednesday, 1 April
Around the World Stage, Hall 6, Level 1
Around the World Series

This session will examine how policy, investment conditions, and technological leadership are positioning Brazil as one of the most competitive energy producing regions in the world.

Brazil stands at a pivotal moment as it leverages its world‑class pre‑salt expertise to unlock new energy frontiers and drive a more sustainable future. Speakers will demonstrate how a stable regulatory framework and bid rounds are unlocking new opportunities, including frontier areas such as the Equatorial Margin, while strengthening Brazil’s “advantage barrel” proposition: large-scale resources with low emissions intensity.

The discussion will also address efforts to expand market competition through infrastructure access, transparent oil auctions, and the revitalization of mature fields to maximize existing assets. From an industry perspective, IBP will outline how predictable fiscal framework, stable geopolitics, and targeted financing incentives are fostering an attractive environment for international oil companies. To compliment, Petrobras will showcase its continued leadership in technological development playing a key role to unlock new basins and enhance sustainability across the value chain.

These perspectives will show how Brazil is powering growth, investment, and a resilient energy future.
